Biography

Luke started with the Manchester City Academy at the age of seven before departing in the summer of 2012 after finishing his two-year scholarship with their Under-18s side.

He enrolled as a student at the University of Michigan in the same year, scoring one and assisting two in six games for the Michigan Wolverines side.

Still plying his trade as a right-back, he trialled for Premier League side Stoke City in October 2012 before signing for Championship team Cardiff City the following month, linking up with their U21 squad. He made one appearance for the first team, coming on as a substitute in their 2-1 FA Cup Third Round defeat to Macclesfield Town in January 2013. He left Cardiff in the summer of 2014 after rejecting a new contract to seek first-team football.

Luke spent the first part of the 2014-2015 season trialling with clubs such as Ipswich Town and Hibernian before he featured twice for Western League Division One side Radstock Town in December 2014.

In January 2015, he was given the option to sign for National League North club Oxford City, where he went on to score nine goals and assist 12 in 46 appearances, which caught the attention of clubs higher up the pyramid.

After an unsuccessful trial with League Two club Crewe Alexandra in October 2015, he signed for National League Premier club Eastleigh in January 2016 for a club-record fee. He helped Eastleigh reach the FA Cup Third Round in 2016-2017, turning down an England C call-up along the way to feature in their first-round game. Upon exiting Eastleigh, he had scored eight and assisted eight in 42 games.

Now a flying winger, he joined League Two club Barnet in January 2017, becoming Eastleigh’s club-record sale at the time. During his time in North London, he played 11 times and was an unused substitute eight times.

Luke returned to the National League in July 2017, joining Ebbsfleet United for an undisclosed fee. He scored 13 goals and assisted 11 in 73 games, being named an unused substitute six times. He helped Ebbsfleet reach the 2018 National League Playoff Semi-Finals.

He made the switch to National League team Bromley in December 2018, where he scored 10 and assisted five in 135 games while being an unused substitute twice. He reached the FA Cup First Round twice in 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 while reaching the Playoff Semi-Finals in 2021 and lifting the FA Trophy at Wembley in 2022 with a win over Wrexham.

After leaving Bromley in June 2022 upon the expiration of his contract, he signed for National League South club Dartford the following month. During his time at Princes Park, he made 95 appearances and scored 18 while assisting 38, also being an unused substitute once. He reached the National League South playoffs in his first campaign, before being appointed Darts captain in the summer of 2023.

After suffering relegation with Dartford in 2024, he relocated to the south west and became our first summer signing of the close season. A productive campaign saw him score 20 goals and assist 20 times for the first time in his career while also being named the vice-captain ahead of his first season at The Optima, immediately becoming a major fans’ favourite back in his hometown.
