Biography

After spells in his native Northern Ireland with Ballyclare Comrades and Ballymena United, Michael moved to England in 2011 when he signed for Bristol Rovers. After earning a place in the PFA League Two team of the year in 2013/14 he then earned a move to Peterborough United. Michael spent three years with The Posh before joining Heart of Midlothian.

During his six seasons in Edinburgh he won the Scottish Championship and was a Scottish Cup runner-up on three occasions. In 2023 he moved to Yeovil Town and helped his new club to the National League South title in his first season, before joining Weston in July 2025 when he left Huish Park.

Michael is the owner of 19 Northern Ireland caps, scoring one goal against Germany in 2019.
