Josh is from Weston-super-Mare but joined the Southampton Academy at the age of eight. Upon leaving The Saints once he had turned 16, Josh moved along the South Coast to AFC Bournemouth where he embarked on a two-year scholarship. Towards the end of 2024/25 he spent time on loan at Horndean before linking up with his hometown club for pre-season training and putting pen to paper in July 2025.
