Max kept five clean sheets in six games throughout the month, and has proven to be a safe pair of hands between the sticks in a defence that have let in just nine goals in 13 games all season.
Our No.1 is the second Seagulls player to scoop a monthly award this season, following on from Louis Britton’s August win.
On the award, Max said:
I’m delighted to pick up this award.
“Keepers always get judged on how many clean sheets they get, something I’m really conscious about, but I must give credit to the lads in front of me that make my job relatively easy on some days.
“It’s nice to win awards based off of clean sheets but it’s not just down to me, it’s also down to the lads in front of me”.
Goalkeeping coach Steve Laker said:
What an achievement for Max! I’m really pleased to see him recognised for all his hard work and commitment.
“Since we secured Max on a permanent deal earlier this year, we’ve worked tirelessly to support him both in training and on match days.
“Our goalkeeping department is in excellent shape, with Jakob as our No. 2 and Ollie joining us as a training keeper. Max and Jakob worked extremely hard during pre-season to get themselves in top condition and ready for the long campaign ahead.
“Max is an absolute pleasure to coach and a fantastic presence within the goalkeeping union. We’re a very open group, and Max is always great to bounce ideas off, helping to support the development of the other keepers. All this hard work has given Max the freedom to excel, and it’s been brilliant to see that translate into his performances on the pitch.
“A huge well done to Max on this achievement — and, of course, to Jakob and Ollie for the support they provide that allows Max to maintain his high standards.
“I’m an extremely proud coach and look forward to the rest of the season with these lads.”
Before Scott departed the Seagulls for National League side Eastleigh, he presided over four wins and one draw from five games throughout September, departing with Weston second in the National League South table.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Max and Scott a big congratulations on the award.
