Men's First Team
Men's First Team Pre-Season Sat 12 July The Optima Stadium
Weston-super-Mare
Exeter City
13:00

The Seagulls make their long awaited return to the Optima and play their second pre-season friendly following on from Tuesday’s 4-1 win at Thornbury Town.

In that game at Mundy Playing Fields, goals from James Waite, Sam Pearson and Brandon Bak, all after an earlier own goal, secured the win for Scott Bartlett’s side in their first outing of pre-season.

Weston’s and Exeter’s relationship with each other is a healthy one, with the Devon club always keen to send their young stars out on loan to BS24, and this fixture has now become a regular occurrence over the last few pre-seasons.

This time last year, The Seagulls and The Grecians drew 1-1 at the Optima Stadium in a Friday evening fixture. Yanic Wildschut gave City a fourth minute lead, before Luke Coulson equalised just moments later. That goal from Coulson was a sign of things to come from the former Bromley man, who went on to have an incredible first season with his hometown club.

With this match being Weston’s first game back in BS24 for some time, and it being Exeter’s first 90 minutes of their pre-season, a large attendance can be expected at the Optima for the early kick-off this Saturday.

If we believe a ticket has been purchased incorrectly or is being misused, we reserve the right to refuse entry and disable a matchday ticket or season ticket without refund.

Parking Information

We have a fair-sized car park at the stadium, with a limited amount of matchday parking available for Blue Badge holders. If a Blue Badge space is required, we recommend arriving as early as possible to secure a spot.

Due to visiting teams typically arriving in cars for pre-season fixtures, the Season Ticket Holders’ Car Park will not be available. However, season ticket holders can still park for free by showing their season ticket at the main car park entrance.

Once the stadium car park is full on matchday, all supporters are asked to park responsibly in the two nearby industrial estates, which are just a 5–10-minute walk from the Optima Stadium. Please do not park in the housing estate opposite the club, as this can cause issues for local residents.

Please note that we are only able to accommodate the official away team coach within the Optima Stadium car park.
