National League South Sat 16 August The Optima Stadium

The Seagulls take on a Clarets side who are one of the favourites for promotion. New manager Angelo Harrop, who took over from Robbie Simpson at Melbourne Stadium, was most recently with Braintree Town and knows how to get promoted out of National League South having won the 2023/24 play-offs, ironically knocking out Chelmsford on the way.

Harrop has recruited well in his first summer in the managerial hotseat, bringing in the likes of Josh Hedges, Ricky Holmes and Lyle Taylor to bolster their squad.

The Clarets won their first game last Saturday, gaining a 1-0 home win over league new boys, Horsham. Harry Barbrook popped up with a late and unlikely winner to earn the three points.

The Seagulls started their season just down the road in Hornchurch, and left Essex empty-handed after their 3-2 defeat. The Seagulls found themselves two down at the interval but Weston drew level after a fabulous first goal for Luke Skinner, a half-time sub, and Sam Pearson. Despite the second-half rally, The Urchins scored again to earn themselves victory.

This weekend’s game is the first of three consecutive Saturdays that Weston are at the Optima as The Seagulls look for their first points of the season.

Parking Information

We have a fair-sized car park at the stadium, with a limited amount of matchday parking available for Blue Badge holders. If a Blue Badge space is required, we recommend arriving as early as possible to secure a spot.

Season ticket holders can park for free in the Season Ticket Holders’ Car Park behind the main stand by showing their season ticket or car parking pass at the main car park entrance.

Once the stadium car park is full on matchday, all supporters are asked to park responsibly in the two nearby industrial estates, which are just a 5–10-minute walk from the Optima Stadium. Please do not park in the housing estate opposite the club, as this can cause issues for local residents.

Please note that we are only able to accommodate the official away team coach within the Optima Stadium.
