The Seagulls will flock to Wordsworth Drive for this Second Qualifying Round tie in great spirits having won their last six games in National League South, the latest victory being last Saturday’s 1-0 success at Enfield Town courtesy of Sam Pearson’s late strike in North London.

Taunton were last in action on Wednesday night for their home game with Weymouth in Southern League Premier South. Former Weston players Nat Williams, Ben Seymour and Alfie Moulden all started in their 1-1 draw, as Kane Simpson scored a late equaliser for Richard Luffman’s side.

This is the tenth time that Weston have faced Taunton in the FA Cup, with the last game coming at this stage four years ago when The Seagulls won by five goals to one at the Optima Stadium. Scott Laird and Lloyd Humphries each scored a brace, and Dayle Grubb scored one in a great win for Weston.

The Seagulls will be hoping to progress from the Second Qualifying Round for the eighth season in a row, and will be dreaming again of reaching the later stages to try and possibly recreate some of the excitement of last season’s cup run.

But Taunton will be a tough test, in what should be a cracking Somerset derby.
