The Seagulls put in a positive performance in Saturday’s first home game of the National League South season, drawing 0-0 with full-timers Chelmsford City.
Weston now head to Wiltshire to take on a Bluebirds side with an identical League record with each other so far this campaign, albeit with only two games played.
Chippenham’s two results so far have seen a 2-2 draw with Dorking Wanderers after conceding a two-goal lead at Hardenhuish Park, before Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Ebbsfleet United.
In the Dorking Wanderers game, Harry Parsons scored a brace for Chippenham, but he is now unfortunately facing a long injury lay-off. However, Town have boosted their striking options this summer with the signings of the dangerous Ezio Touray and former Weston player, Sol Wanjau-Smith.
There were a total of four games between Weston and Chippenham last season, with The Seagulls faring the better in the two FA Cup games before The Bluebirds completed a league double over Weston in the league, as Gary Horgan’s side won 3-1 on New Year’s Day and 2-0 on Good Friday.
Will Dawes was the main architect of Chippenham’s win on January 1st, scoring a brace for The Bluebirds before his move to Weston, but an injury forced him out of facing his former employees in the return fixture.
Both sides will be looking for their first victory of the season on Tuesday, which should make it an interesting affair at Hardenhuish Park.
