Owen (left), a first-year scholar, joined our U19s programme, in partnership with Weston College, at the beginning of the season. The left-footed central midfielder began with Plymouth Argyle’s Centre of Excellence before leaving the Pilgrims. He made six substitute appearances for hometown club Newquay during 2024-2025, before being spotted by the club at a UK Football Trials session earlier on this year. Since joining the programme, in partnership with Weston College, Owen has gone from strength to strength, already creating three goals this campaign. He remains dual registered with Western League Premier Division side Newquay, where he has featured in five games this season.

Krystian (middle), a third-year scholar, has already made three first-team appearances this season and has been an unused substitute four times for the Seagulls. The forward joined the club midway through last campaign following the closure of Yeovil Town’s Academy, where he had been a part of their U18 setup and had sporadic appearances for their first-team in pre-season friendlies. This campaign, Krystian has found the net twice in four games for our U19s side. He has also featured four times on dual registration with Western League side Paulton Rovers.

Josh (right), a second-year scholar, has been with the club since U14 level and has steadily progressed through the ranks to become U18s & U19s captain for the 2025-2026 season. The central midfielder made four appearances during 2024-2025 on our way to winning the Somerset Premier Cup, and has scored two goals in seven appearances while dual registered with Hellenic League Premier Division side Thornbury Town this campaign.

On the three, Academy Manager Gary Warren said:

Three of our young talents have earned the opportunity to take their next step in their football careers, signing first-team forms.

“Their hard work, dedication and passion for the game have been rewarded, and we couldn’t be more excited to see them represent the club.

“The boys have a bright future ahead and this will provide them with an opportunity to try and make an impact within the senior team.

“This demonstrates the current pathway we have within the academy and is great for the whole club to see the players given a chance”.

Everyone at the club is pleased to see the three make the next step on their footballing journey, and we look forward to keeping a close eye on their development.
