It’s been an excellent few weeks for Scott Bartlett’s side, who make the journey to the capital having won five National League South games in a row, the latest of which was Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over Maidstone United under the Optima Stadium lights.

James Waite opened the scoring with his low drive into the bottom corner, before Louis Britton became the club’s top-scorer for the season with his brace either side of half-time. The first was a satisfying tap-in after a well-worked goal involving Waite, before a Will Dawes pass set up Britton, who took a magnificent first touch before going on to round the Maidstone goalkeeper before slotting into the empty net.

Saturday’s hosts, Enfield Town, were also in Tuesday night action and they picked up their first victory of the season after their 2-1 win at Tonbridge Angels. Bayley Brown and Sam Youngs were on target in Kent in that important win.

Youngs scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the corresponding fixture in North London last season, before the return fixture at the Optima finished 1-1 in December.

The Towners are managed by Gavin Macpherson, whose sides have been notoriously tough to crack for Weston in recent times. Therefore, another tight affair could be on the cards this weekend.
